Why Hospitality Workers Need CPR Training
Hospitality staff are often the first people on scene when a guest or coworker experiences a medical emergency.
• High-traffic environments mean higher likelihood of witnessing an emergency
• Guests are often traveling, stressed, or physically active - all risk factors for cardiac events
• Fast response before EMS arrival can be the difference between life and death
• CPR-certified staff reduce liability and demonstrate duty of care

CPR Training for Hospitality Workers — Frequently Asked Questions
Does Nevada require CPR certification for hospitality workers? Nevada does not mandate CPR certification for all hospitality staff, but OSHA requires employers to ensure employees can respond to workplace medical emergencies. Many hotel brands, casino operators, and restaurant groups require CPR certification as part of their internal safety standards. We recommend confirming your employer’s specific requirements.
Which course do you recommend for hotel and restaurant staff? For most hospitality teams, we recommend the CPR, AED & First Aid - Adult course. It covers the emergencies most common in hospitality settings: cardiac arrest, choking, allergic reactions, bleeding, and more. Teams that work with younger guests - such as resort pools or family entertainment venues -should consider the Adult, Child & Infant course.
Can you train staff across multiple shifts? Absolutely. We offer back-to-back and multi-day sessions so you can certify your entire team without disrupting operations. Just let us know your shift schedule and we’ll build a training plan around it.
When do staff receive their certification cards? Same day. Your staff receives certification cards the day of the class, so you can immediately update employment records and safety documentation.
How long is CPR certification valid? CPR and First Aid certifications are valid for 2 years. We make renewal simple - schedule a new on-site session as your team’s certifications approach expiration. Many hospitality businesses schedule recurring training each year to keep certifications staggered and always current.
Do you bring your own equipment? Yes. Our instructor arrives with all manikins, AED trainers, and training materials. You don’t need to provide anything - just a space large enough for your group.
