Prepared Staff Save Lives in Senior Care
Residents in assisted living and senior care facilities are among the most medically vulnerable populations. Cardiac events, respiratory emergencies, choking, and fall-related trauma can occur with little warning - and the minutes before EMS arrives are critical.
Northern Nevada CPR provides hands-on, on-site CPR, AED, BLS, and First Aid training specifically for assisted living facilities, memory care units, senior day programs, and home care agencies throughout Northern Nevada. Our instructor comes to your facility with all equipment, so your staff gets certified without disrupting operations.

FAQs About CPR & BLS For Assisted Living and Senior Care
What is the difference between BLS and CPR & First Aid for senior care staff? BLS (Basic Life Support) is a clinical-level certification designed for healthcare providers - nurses, CNAs, and med techs who may need to perform advanced resuscitation, including bag-mask ventilation and team-based CPR. CPR & First Aid is appropriate for non-clinical staff such as activity coordinators, front desk staff, and dietary employees. We can train both groups in the same visit with separate sessions.
How often do assisted living staff need to renew their CPR certification? CPR, AED, First Aid, and BLS certifications are valid for 2 years. We recommend scheduling renewal training before certifications lapse to avoid gaps in your compliance documentation. We can help you track your team’s renewal schedule and set up recurring training visits.
Can you train our entire staff in one visit? Yes. We accommodate up to 9 students per session and can run back-to-back sessions in the same day to train larger teams. This allows you to certify staff across multiple shifts without shutting down operations. Contact us to plan a full-facility training day.
Do you provide documentation for our compliance records? Yes. Every student receives a certification card the same day they complete training. We can also provide a roster of who was trained and when, which you can keep on file for your DHCQC licensing records.
Do you offer on-site CPR training at our facility in Reno or Carson City? Yes. We travel to your facility throughout Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Fernley, Incline Village, Dayton, and the surrounding Northern Nevada area.
What if a new staff member is hired between training sessions? We can schedule individual or small-group training sessions for new hires at any time. Flexible scheduling means you don’t have to wait until your next group training to get a new employee certified.
